ASTM A847
High strength low alloy steel pipe and tube spec for weathering steel.
The producing mill has the choice to use alloying elements to meet this requirement. The choice and use of these elements are from the producing mill and must be reported on the mill certification.
ASTM A606-4
High strength low alloy steel coil spec for weathering steel.
Specification for HSLA steel with increased atmospheric corrosion resistance. This spec covers hot and cold rolled sheet, strip, and coil. It is the ASTM equivalent of Corten.
ASTM A588
High strength low alloy steel plate and shapes spec for weathering steel.
Specification for HSLA steel with increased atmospheric corrosion resistance. This spec covers plate and shapes such as angles, channel, beams, bars and rounds.
ASTM A242
High strength low alloy steel plate for weathering steel.
Specification for HSLA steel with increased atmospheric corrosion resistance. This spec was the original when Cor-Ten was introduced. It covered plate up to ½” in thickness. Not commonly used anymore, refer to A588.
